Janmashtami Celebrations Around The World
	Janmashtami is the celebration time. Indeed, it is time to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna on this earth. Janmashtami is approaching fast and will probably fall on 3rd or 24th August 2008. Besides India, other countries also celebrate Janmashtami. Initially, culture centric festivals like Janmashtami were celebrated but on a small scale. However, with different groups and religious communities coming up, these festivals are solemnized and enjoyed in a great way.During the Janmashtami festival,
people are in the mood of worship and devotion. Shops are filled with people buying Janmashtami pooja items to please the Lord. The baby idol of Lord Krishna is the center of attraction of the day. Most of the people purchase silver or golden Lord Krishna idol and rock him at the midnight hour in a dazzling cradle. Sanskrit mantras and special ‘shlokas' are chanted while performing the puja in temples or at home. New clothes, cash and jewelries are offered to the Lord. Prasada or food for the Lord is prepared and after the worship is distributed among the devotees.
