| Janmashtami celebrations in Nepal are in the same way with zest and honor as it is celebrated in India. In fact, Nepal is the only province of the world where both the religions--Hinduism and Buddhism blends well. There is a harmonious ambience and the essence of brotherhood among people. One can feel homely in Nepal. People of Nepal welcome Lord Krishna on the day of Janmashtami in a grand way.
Nepali women chant the names of the God like Hare Krishna, Gopal Gopal or Narayan Narayan. Some of them also tune in some ancient hymns and ‘shlokas' to offer prayers to Him. They perform Janmashtami pooja and perform aarti. Some other Nepali Brahmins offer ‘prasada' or delicious food to God. Then they distribute this food among all present there. |
